Customer Login

05 Dec

If you had an account at onestopcandle.com prior to september 1, 2010 your customer login and password should work here. The databases were migrated to chocomolds.com on that date so if your customer account is newer than that you will need to set up a new account at chocomolds. Note that the order history and other information was not able to be migrated.

A new feature has been added that allows the login screen to look up your login name from your email address as well. This only works if you enter the email address in your account records.

Day One

05 Dec

So far things are going fairly smoothly, with no software issues and just a few link related issues. The shopping cart and secure server are funtioning perfectly.

Known Issues:

  • Several of the mold pages link to projects on onestop. We are working to fix these links and would appreciate if you report any products with links that are broken or that point to onestop.
  • Many of the lolly mold descriptions link to a category that no longer existed for sticks, bags, and displays. Since these are now all in their own categories, that category had been eliminated. A temporary fix has been put in place by recreating that category which now contains links to the appropriate bag, stick, and display pages. The permanent fix will take much longer as we will have to edit about 1,000 product descriptions.

I will keep you posted if anything further comes up.

We realise that many of our customers use chocolate molds as well as candle, soap, or plaster making supplies. To help those who need to shop on both sites, we are working on a simple check box on the checkout pages that will inform us to combine orders from both web sites to save you shipping costs.

Open!

05 Dec

Chocomolds.com is officially open for business as of 7:43 P.M. Eastern Time, December 4th 2010.

It has been a massive 96 day effort with lots of 20 hour days, but I think you will find it was worth it.

Final Stretch

04 Dec

We are aiming for opening the site this Sunday. All that remains is to update the inventory and a few cosmetic things like lightening the page background and adjusting the text size in a few places.

Everything else is installed, mostly link checked, and tested. I’ll be burning the midnight oil to get everything done for Sunday.

Almost Done

03 Dec

After a marathon session working on the site all that remains before opening is to finish updating the product list and add the inventory. A daunting task with all those products, but at least it doesn’t require any programming.

The members area will be switched over in the weeks following the opening, but the free projects are up and functional already.
